Weymoor Bridge Culvert & Spill Weir

Weymoor Bridge Stream Culvert

After canal abandonment a drainage channel was cut through the canal bed adjacent to Weymoor Bridge.

In 2024 the first phase of constructing a new culvert to take the drainage channel under the canal was completed.

The second phase of work during 2025 completed the culvert and extended the channel walls above, and made a good start on reinstating the canal towpath.

Weymoor Bridge Spill Weir

One hundred metres or so east from the bridge are the remains of a spill weir that would have allowed excess water in the canal to flow out into a branch of the River Churn. which is close by.
