The site of the infilled Westfield Lock is in the foreground of the upper photo. Westfield Bridge is in fair condition and carries a Public Right of Way (EEA/37/2) over the canal.
Walkers
This is where the canal becomes completely lost to infilling, and beyond this point there is no public right of way along the old canal line. If travelling in an easterly direction, there will be a need to backtrack to Pike Bridge and follow the Thames and Severn Way diversion to re-join the canal at the A38.
Once the Cotswold Canals Connected restoration programme has been completed in late 2024, this diversion will no longer be required.
