Cotswold Canals in Pictures

Westfield Bridge & site of Westfield Lock

Westfield Bridge is in fair condition and carries a Public Right of Way (EEA/37/2) over the canal.

Westfield Lock, which was completely infilled when most of the photos were taken, is first in the Eastington flight of five when heading towards Stroud. Work to 're-discover' the lock started in the autumn of 2022.

Walkers

This is where the canal becomes completely lost to infilling, and beyond this point there is no public right of way along the old canal line. If travelling in an easterly direction, there will be a need to backtrack to Pike Bridge and follow the Thames and Severn Way diversion to re-join the canal at the A38.

Once the Cotswold Canals Connected restoration programme has been completed in 2026 this diversion will no longer be required.
