Cotswold Canals in Pictures

Hoffmans Dam (Site of)

Hoffmans Dam was an obstruction across the Stroudwater just to the west of Ocean Jubilee (Railway) Bridge.

It is thought the dam was constructed in the 1950s after the canal closed to traffic to supply water to the nearby Ransome, Hoffman and Pollards (RHP) bearings factory.

The dam has been removed as part of the Phase 1b or 'Cotswold Canals Connected' restoration scheme which is restoring the Stroudwater Canal between Ocean Jubilee Bridge and Walk Bridge, near Saul Junction.
