Cotswold Canals in Pictures

Site of Ampney Brook Aqueduct, Eisey

A footbridge that carries the former towpath, now a public right of way, over Ampney Brook is all that remains of the canal aqueduct. The canal infilling that started just before the Ampney Brook aqueduct continues for a short distance, giving a total infilled length of about 100m (see third photo). This is as far as the original canal towpath can be walked in an easterly direction. The canal from this point onwards towards Inglesham is on private property, with significant lengths being lost to infilling.
