Cotswold Canals in Pictures

Upper Mills Bridge, Stonehouse

This bridge has also been known as Brush Works Bridge.

Upper Mills Bridge was a swing bridge when the canal was operational. But in the late 1960s the canal company gave permission for the bridge to be replaced with a wider fixed steel and reinforced concrete structure.  This was to give better access to the adjacent Upper Mills industrial site.

In 2010 worked started to construct the new high-level fixed bridge seen today.

Note: there is a winding hole adjacent to the bridge.
