A solitary coping stone provides evidence as to the location of the infilled lock.

It will also be noted, as with the Middle Lock, that the ground is clearly raised here, with the raised portion clearly rectangular in shape.

The canoes are probably in South Cerney Lower Lock, with the Middle Lock behind.

The date range of this photo is listed as being between 1860 - 1922. However, if taken at a similar time to others in this series by the same photographer, it would place the date closer to 1904.
