Site of Cirencester Basin & Wharf House

A modern building now occupies the site of the wharf agent's house, which was demolished in 1975. There is no longer any evidence of the canal in the vicinity.

In the photo below which shows part of the canal basin, the culvert that can be seen was part of the canal feeder which transferred water from the River Churn at Jenner's (now Barton) Mill to the summit level of the canal via the Cirencester Arm.

There are no plans to restore the Cirencester Arm.
